Speaking on: ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS WITH EMPLOYEES USING SOCIAL MEDIA

I'm speaking at the GSU Corporate IP Institute on October 28, 2015:

ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS WITH EMPLOYEES USING SOCIAL MEDIA
Is it okay for employees to promote the company brand in social media? How narrow or broad is your social media policy? Does an at-will employee have any legal rights when tweeting about your company? Can an employer demand an employee's social media password? These legal and ethical issues and more will be discussed in this interactive session.

          THE ISSUES
There are inappropriate things written on social media, even in the work-related environment
Many employees believe that what they do on social networks off company time is their business
Employers need to educate employees on appropriate, ethical conduct with social networks – both on and off company time
